Small town and city girls

Welcome to Arizona

What a whirlwind these past two days have been.

Consisting of three best friends, endless possibilities, 30 hours in Flagstaff, and a long drive to and from, it was yet another amazing adventure.

On Friday, we set out at 4:30 in the morning for what we expected to be a 4 hour drive to Flagstaff. It turned out to be 5/6 hours instead due to the incline of driving up the mountain. It definitely wasn't my most favourite drive.

However, once it was evident that we weren't in the desert anymore, the excitement completely kicked in, despite my deprivation of sleep. So after a little cat nap, the 24 hours in Flagstaff could begin.

One of my best friends, Mariah, lives in Flagstaff now since she attends university there. She had been asking that we visit so she could show off her small town. And after a conflict of scheduling and worried parents, we didn't think that it'd happen. But if it's meant to be, it will be.

Needless to say, us city girls fell in love with the small town. Although I could never picture myself in a small town at this point in my life, it isn't completely eliminated. Flagstaff has the cutest little downtown, the best local shops, and the nicest people ever. I received so many compliments on my daisy headband from practically every female there. And a little boy during First Friday festivities patted my head because he liked my flowers.

I also fell in love with this lot.

Kai and I
These puppies were out to socialise to become comfortable with people. They got loads of attention from those just passing by; Mariah, Ang, and I spent a good half hour with them.

Mariah and I at First Friday!
Once the sun set, we had dinner at such a hipster-esque restaurant downtown. The whole of downtown was hipster-ville. Like a Rosewood, but without pretty little liars and a murder-mystery that's yet to be solved.

I was border-line delusional at this point because I was deprived of sleep. Long story short, they are night owls and I am an early bird. But I had to keep up with the other two.

"No cars drive on this street. Just buses."
Once back at Mariah's, we went to stargaze whilst lying in the middle of the street.

We got yelled at by the police because we believe someone at the top of the parking garage tattled. And unfortunately, Ang didn't record that. It was basically our first YouTuber moment (because every vlogger we watch on there gets yelled at by the police to no avail.) But we know that happened, and you all now know that it happened too. Haha.

Duos in diners
Needless to say, it was a wonderful two days in Flagstaff. To be honest, I could come back just for the shopping. There were these three specific stores that we walked into 3 times in the 30 hours we were there. But without a question, I'd return if Mariah really needed me too. Because that's what best friends are for.

I am extremely blessed to have these two girls in my life. We are the adventurers and the spontaneous. The travelers and the fearless.
