I am on the verge of falling into a deep deep slumber. However, I must write this, despite running on less than 4 hours of sleep having woken up at 4AM to drive to LA to spend so many hours of my time to see a best friend's dream come true, before what's left of today's adventure becomes just a blur. Because that happens to me. Often.
So basically, I agreed to accompany my friend to a Stephanie Meyer book signing in Los Angeles. She is obviously famous for the Twilight series, but this was especially for her book The Host. Now, I haven't read this book. I guess after falling in love with the series, I didn't have any particular interest to read her new book, not related to vampires and werewolves. So exactly why did I attend a book signing for a book that I've never even touched?
Because of this:
My friend seen here hugging the handsome Max Irons is my partner-in-crime. We always have the best time together when we're partaking in an adventure. A lot of my favourite memories since I've begun university are the one we've made in LA. So I figured, why not make another? Susan, if you happen to come across this, I mean with all my heart that you are one crazy, amorous fangirl. But I loves yah all the same. Because I know that if I had the chance to meet Nick Jonas (you'd probably find out about it first), you'd be along for the journey too.
Dayventures are so much fun, but are extremely draining. Even if it is just a 2 hr drive to LA. Los Angeles is known for its infamous traffic, and so it's suggested you have good music, good company, and good shoes.
It's definitely been a roller coaster past 48 (not even, more like 35) hours. On Thursday, on my way back home, my car broke down on me. It's one of those "it's going to happen to you, too, one day" things, but still, you never really know what to expect until you're actually experiencing it yourself. Needless to say, I am okay. Although, Petie ain't. I am extremely blessed that it didn't happen to me on the freeway because I would have definitely been a big mess of emotion. Someone is looking out for me, and I couldn't be thankful enough.
Poor Petie :( |
He's still in the shop getting some major work done, but I'm just so amazed how it was working perfectly only to completely break down the same drive.
I don't think necessarily that running away from your problems is the correct way to go about the situation, but getting out of town, if for only the day, only sounded the more appealing after that incident. And I believe that it was an efficient way to feel better.
Reading does that too for me, so I guess I shall get to reading.
